Sunday, September 21, 2008

One of the things I never got tired of since graduating from college is the occasional sleepover with friends and last night was another one of my adult, slumber parties with my good friend, Maruja.

"Did you ever feel the Sunday blues back in high school?" I asked her.

"Yeah!" Maruja exclaimed. "I'd get depressed when it'd  be 4 or 5pm."

Our mutual discomfort with Sunday afternoons was shared by many girls we knew--it was a looming sign that Monday morning was looming nearby and Monday mornings always meant having to get up extra early for the flag ceremony, the requisite start to another 5 days of sleepy Science periods and difficult Algebra assignments.

On a personal note, I associated Sunday afternoons with my usual homework cramming--a bad habit I never improved on right until the last day of college. Even going to the mall is not as fun because the stores would close a little earlier than it does on a Saturday night. Moreover, you just couldn't stay up too late well into bar-hopping or late-night movie watching.

So, when Maruja, I and my boyfriend, Mark, went around the Greenhills and Greenbelt 3 shopping mall to look for fashionable kids to feature on Glance, we  couldn't find as many kids as one would normally see on Friday or Saturday.

Regardless of that, we spotted these girls, who we just had to chase down and photograph. Noor, Kriska and Louise have made history as the first girls to be featured on Glance!
